The Pride Chamber is proud to bring you an opportunity for the community of corporate representatives in Central Florida.

The CORPORATE EQUALITY COUNCIL is an initiative that will promote LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace among our community’s largest employers.

Objective

To provide a vehicle for members of the chamber who represent
corporations in Central Florida, to convene and address issues impacting
LGBTQ+ and ally owned businesses.

Vision

This council will serve as an important voice in promoting
LGBTQ inclusion, thereby maintaining a reputation of the Central Florida
business community as one that is welcoming.

The CORPORATE EQUALITY COUNCIL will:

  • Convene corporate level representatives/companies in Central Florida who pledge to work towards inclusive workplace cultures for LGBTQ+ team members
  • Allow members to share best practices
  • Provide a safe space for crucial conversations about LGBTQ+ inclusion, DEI protocols, current business climate
  • Host quarterly events to engage corporate/business leaders
  • Work with chamber executives to ensure success of LGBTQ+ certified businesses
  • Help corporations meet supplier diversity goals

Criteria for membership in CEC:

  • Current corporate member ($1500 minimum) of the Pride Chamber in good standing and must remain at that level to continue
  • Minimum of 50 employees
  • Include “sexual orientation’ and ‘gender identity’ in policy statements that protect team members from discrimination and harassment or pledge to work with the Pride Chamber on implementing said policies (provide copy of page from employee handbook)
  • Cost to participate:  $1,500 (separate from chamber membership dues)

Benefits of CEC program:

  • One (1) seat on council reserved for c-suite executive to serve as company representative (profile to be featured on ThePrideChamber.org)
  • Access to exclusive CEC events hosted by the chamber
  • Three (3) ERG memberships available for ERG representatives from company
  • Access to training/guidance and resources of The Pride Chamber in LGBTQ + related issues
  • Bi-directional learning opportunities
    • Exclusive access to member driven research on DEI/LGBTQ workplace inclusion best practices (members will be encouraged to contribute content)
    • Exclusive access to “How IT’s Done”, an LGBTQ+ policy/procedure guiding document to be produced by The Pride Chamber for council members
  • Allows members to align DEI efforts to foster a comprehensive understanding of LGBTQ+ issues
  • Ability to highlight an innovative LGBTQ+ focused program/initiative or an outstanding individual in newsletter
